EDUWEBTV

Have you ever heard of EDUWEBTV?

EduwebTV is the official webtv of the Ministry of Education, Malaysia which has been introduced since 1 March 2008. It's the first project of its kind in the world! Bridging the digital divide is perhaps the most important factor in ensuring that education reaches every fraction of society. EduwebTV is consist of 4 channels, which are Berita (news), Rancangan Khas (special programme), Kurikulum (curriculum) and Panduan (guidances). The ministry embarked on EduwebTV to replace and to improve the delivery of TV Pendidikan, which was broadcasted on TV. It is aimed at addressing the limitation of using educational TV where teachers are unable to fit in the school period.

Teachers nowadays are able to apply relevant video clippings to reinforce their lessons in the classroom. This can make the learning process are more exciting and up to date with current circumstances instead of make students understand more about the knowledge content as they can see it.

EduwebTV also promotes self-learning among students. Students can access the videos and the day's homework from the website by logging on with a password created by the teacher. The students can hand over their homeworks via email or using conventional exercise book. This will make our education is accessable at anytime and anywhere.

Lots of researches have been done towards this EduwebTV on Malaysia education system, to see the impacts of this internet educational TV broadcast in a way to improve teacher's teaching and learning process at school. One of it is being done by School of Educational Studies USM, conducted by Melissa Ng Lee Yen Abdullah, Fong Soon Fook and Ong Saw Lan on the topic of " An evaluation of Instructional Videos in EDUWEBTV: Technical Qualities, Pedagogical Aspects, Engagement and Perceived Impact on Learning "
